X-Mas Festival

Xmas is the most popular festival , which is  celebrated all over the world. Two more days to go. WOW!

"Xmas" is an abbreviation of Christmas found particularly in print, based on the initial letter chi (Χ).

Christmas  is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and a widely observed cultural holiday, celebrated  on December 25 by millions of people around the world. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift giving, Christmas music and singing carols, exchange of Christmas cards,  a special meal, and the display of various Christmas decorations, including Christmas trees, Christmas lights, garlandsmistletoe, and holly. In addition, several closely related and often interchangeable figures, known as Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas,  are associated with bringing gifts to children during the Christmas. Christmas  is celebrated today in family gatherings with seasonal food and drink, dancing, games, and  singing carols.  Houses are decorated with lights  and  Christmas figures.

Other traditional decorations include bells, candles, candy canes, stockings, wreaths, and angels. Displaying of wreaths and candles in each window are a traditional custom.. The  Christmas  Candles in each window are meant to demonstrate  that Jesus Christ is the ultimate light of the world.

Preparations for  Christmas  start many days in advance in our house..Collection of items like beads, flowers, balloons, stars and other knick knacks are kept ready. On Christmas eve  the whole family  is involved in singing Christmas carols, while decorating the tree. In our family we never purchase a  ready   made   tree. We have grown Christmas trees in mud pots in our house.  A  photo  of the Christmas tree decorated in our house last year is shown  below
